Crochet flowers use yarn and stitches
Crochet forms yarn into connected loops with a hook. A crocheted flower has a stitched surface; knitted pieces use a different yarn technique. Read the individual product description to understand which technique and components the piece uses.
Chenille flowers use shaped fuzzy stems
Chenille stems, also called pipe cleaners or fuzzy wire, can be bent and arranged into petals and leaves. In Malay you may see bunga dawai baldu; in Chinese, 扭扭棒花束. Chenille is not another name for crochet.
A lasting handmade flower is not necessarily preserved
Preserved natural flowers start as real plant material and undergo preservation. Yarn and chenille flowers are constructed from other materials. Check each product's actual components, especially where a bouquet combines flowers, plush pieces and accessories.
Choose by appearance, size and care
Compare close-up photographs, dimensions, included pieces and the selected type's price. Ask for material-specific cleaning and storage instructions. Do not assume every handmade arrangement can be washed, reshaped or exposed to water.
